What Program Works Best for Your Family?

At Providence School of Tifton, parents may choose a traditional, 5-Day educational plan, a 4-Day-a-week educational plan, or a 3-Day Core educational plan.

3-Day Core

Providence follows a 3-day Core model!  Education is concentrated into core instruction on Tuesdays through Thursdays. On Mondays and Fridays, students may stay home and participate in parentally-supervised, in-home instruction.

5-Day Option

Our 5-Day educational plan is a Monday-through-Friday, in-class schedule taught by professional educators. Mondays are designated as Academic Enrichment days where students engage in extended, subject-specific labs, such as math tutoring or science invention time. Fridays are Common Arts days, during which students learn about agriculture, animal husbandry, woodworking, and more.

Core and Academic Enrichment

This 4-Day educational plan is held Monday through Thursday. This plan provides tutorial/lab days on Mondays and core instruction on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Students will participate in parentally-supervised, in-home instruction on Fridays.

Core and Common Arts

This 4-Day educational plan is held Tuesday through Friday.  This plan provides core instruction on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and common arts activities on Fridays. Students will participate in parentally-supervised, in-home instruction on Mondays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at office@providencetift.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

If your family desires to send your children to school five days per week, they can. The course of study will differ according to the day of the week with core subjects taught Tuesday through Thursday and additional arts and enrichment studies taught on Mondays and Fridays. This rearrangement allows families who prefer all five days to experience the entire program they are used to receiving, but in a new way.

If your family chooses to enroll in only the 3-day core, your students will still receive full instruction in the core academic disciplines (i.e. mathematics, linguistics, humanities, science, etc.). They will also participate daily in our morning assemblies. They will not receive instruction in the enrichment options offered on Mondays and Fridays, such as additional tutorial time, common arts instruction, drama, mock trial, instrumental music lessons, etc.

Students who enroll in the 4 or 5-day program will receive instruction in additional academic enrichment areas and special classes, additional academic and tutorial support, common arts instruction, and additional time with peers and teachers in the school setting.

No, the 3-day core is set for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Yes, you may enroll students in either Monday or Friday programs or both days to add to the core, if you so choose. You may NOT enroll in a Monday or Friday option without enrolling in the 3-day core.

Yes, students enrolled for 3, 4, or 5 days are still eligible for the Georgia Promise Scholarship, the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship, and the Georgia Golden Dome Scholarship.

All students will be charged a base tuition rate, and families who elect to enroll in a 4th or 5th day will incur additional tuition for those days.

We do not plan to change the length of our day. School will still begin at 7:50 am and end at 2:30 pm each day.

Yes, students still cover the same amount of core material. By focusing instruction in the core and assigning strategic independent homework, reading, and integration work, we will still prepare students well for advancing through our curriculum.

By moving enrichment and supplemental studies to the beginning and end of the week, more time is allotted in the core to accomplish in three days what used to take five. Homework and reading over the four-day break (weekend) is adjusted to give families flexibility while also helping students keep pace and prepare for the next week of instruction.

Students will be assigned homework on Tuesday and Wednesday nights due for the next school day in proportion to a single-day’s work load. On Thursday, students are assigned additional homework for extra practice that can be accomplished over the extended weekend (i.e. Thursday’s work load plus an additional day’s homework load for practice and preparation, due on Tuesday). This allows us to assign the work necessary to advance through our curriculum strategically and make the best use of our core days while also allowing parents greater flexibility and involvement during the off days and evenings.

Just like absences in a 5-day model, students are expected to make up missed work and are given time to do so according to the days of their absence. With the extended break between weeks, more time is granted for students to make up their work to turn in as needed. As before, each absence and situation is considered on a case-by-case basis.

Monday and Friday classes will not require additional homework.

Much in every way! Choose what is best for your child and family. Students who are registered in the 4 or 5-day program will receive additional instruction and opportunities in engaging and enriching subjects and activities to supplement their core learning, while families who prefer to cover those areas at home will be free to do so without compromising the core of their children’s education.
